Coaches

The basic philosophy of our Club is lifelong sports activity. Our goal is not to turn the amateur athletes into iron men within one year, but our main goal is to make sport a lifestyle for our members. We do our best to approach each member of our club individually. We consider the strengths and weaknesses of our athletes and prepare the adequate training procedures accordingly.

Maroš Horínek – Headcoach

Maros Horinek, Headcoach
Maroš is a former swimming representative, who has won more than 100 titles of Czechoslovak and Slovak champions in his career. In his 20s, he switched from swimming to triathlon, which he did professionally for over two years. Unfortunately, his successful triathlon career was ended by a car crash during his cycling training. Since 2005, he has been actively involved in the training and preparation of amateur and performance triathletes. During his rich coaching and professional career, he successfully trained and prepared two athletes for the Olympics in triathlon as well as several Slovak champions both in triathlon and duathlon. Maroš is currently active in masters swimming, breaking records not only in the Slovakian but also in the European rankings. Maroš is a perfectionist with a sharp eye for details and a coach with a big heart.

Laura Ibošová

Laura is still a student of FTVŠ (Department of Physical Education-Geography) and a former Slovak representative in swimming. She has been involved in competitive swimming since she was 10 years old, but lately she needed more of a challenge and switched to triathlon. As a swimming coach, Laura has under her thumb our youngest members, teaching them to swim correctly and safely. Her trainings are aimed at developing the swimmer’s technique and introducing the young swimmers to the elements of competitive swimming.
We hope with Laura’s help we will raise the future stars of triathlon.
